Tiwahe is a connector – of people, organizations, resources, knowledge, and opportunity. Tiwahe creates pathways for American Indian people to reach their goals, on their own terms, in this critical moment for how Native cultures, languages, and ways of being will live and grow in the coming generations.
We do this through our flagship micro-granting program (AIFEP) and through our Oyate Leadership Network, a network weaving and leadership development program that is being re-envisioned to center the cultural needs of our Indigenous leaders in Minnesota.
The American Indian Family Empowerment Program (AIFEP) is a grant-making project of Tiwahe Foundation, which awards grants to individuals working to be of service to their community, connected to their culture, and to have their potential realized.
The Oyate Leadership Network connects and resources our community members and organizations to their next stages of growth through a cohort-style learning community to where they connect with other Native leaders to learn from each other’s strengths, unique experiences, and leadership practices.
Tiwahe Foundation is one of four lead organizations in a partnership called the Linking Leaders which is a cross-cultural partnership that brings together four networks of leaders of color in the Indigenous, Black, Asian, and Latinx communities
